Phd Biotechnology Selection for scholarships is based on academic merit, research experience, publications relative to opportunity, alignment of the project with strategic priorities and the supervisory experience/support of the potential supervisor.The Phd Biotechnology primary criterion is a high standard of Honours (a year of assessed research following an undergraduate course) or its equivalent.Phd Biotechnology Equivalence could include:

-research Masters’ degree with at least 2/3 of the degree comprising a thesis graded at 80%+.
-coursework Masters’ degrees or graduate diplomas which includes a research project or thesis of 10,000 to 20,000 words to 80%+ standard, and research methodology units
-comparable qualifications from international universities including a research project or thesis of 10,000 to 20,000 words to 80%+ standard

The Khazanah Global Scholarship is a prestigious award that offers opportunities for bright and high-achieving Malaysians to pursue Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies at selected leading universities around the world. ■Master’s Program

Aims to offer students a broader prospective and deeper knowledge to equip them with research abilities in specialized fields and advanced competences necessary for professional careers. Students will take classes offered in English. Full time attendance for two years is necessary for a master’s course. It is necessary to obtain the number of credits set by each graduate school, receive supervision in the fields of their study, and pass the thesis and final examinations.

■Doctoral Program

Aims to help students develop specialized knowledge and research competences required of researchers and professionals with expertise in their fields. To obtain the doctoral degree, three years of postgraduate study with guidance is necessary, as a general rule. Fellowship Description: The Mary Elvira Stevens Traveling Fellowship, established by the will of Alice Alvira Stevens, Class of 1891, carries a stipend of up to $25,000 (taxable according to law) for up to a full year of travel or study outside the United States. It is available to a Wellesley graduate who is at least 25 years of age in the year of application, 2010. There is no limitation as to field of interest, but the applicant’s detailed plan must be approved in advance by the Fellowship Committee. Candidates seeking to explore either academic or non-academic fields are encouraged to apply. Except under unusual and compelling circumstances, the committee has not chosen in recent years to fund graduate study or PhD dissertation research.

The will states that “preference shall be given to persons with good temper and a natural generosity of view when confronted with alien conditions, common sense in observing and comprehending social, economic, and political situations, a strong desire to travel, and a deep love of beauty.” It also expresses the expectation that the Fellowship will provide for Wellesley alumnae and the United States “well-balanced young women who may or may not teach, write, or lecture, but who in any event will live in a spirit of knowledge and understanding that will assure a reasonable degree of wisdom.” We invite proposals for purposeful travel into unfamiliar territory that will inspire reflection and growth and lead to more fulfilling and productive personal and professional lives.
